2. Kamui Ski Links
One of Hokkaido's best little ski areas is the Kamui Ski Links. Kamui is showered by 8m of annual snowfall which is considered excellent quality powder snow in the Cental Hokkaido area. Just 15 minutes away from Ashikawa City, Kamui Ski Links is also convenient for those planning a day trip from areas like Furano and Sapporo. Accommodations available are through Palace Hotel, Grand Hotel, Terminal Hotel, and Crescent Hotel.

3. NASPA Ski Garden
Located right behind the NASPA New Otani Hotel and about 80 minutes away from Tokyo is the NASPA Ski Garden. The NASPA Ski Garden is a family-skiers only resort and is ideal for beginners and intermediate level skiers. First opened in 1992 NASPA Ski Gardens offers an efficient lifting system that accommodates its 9 different runs. The courses vary from very easy and gentle slopes that are ideal to kids, to steep slopes that are difficult to maneuver in. This all comes in with a complete three steep mogul course.

4. Niseko Grand Hirafu
The Niseko Grand Hirafu offers 34 different courses and a children's gelende. With 17 lifts available for visitors, the Niseko Grand Hirafu courses are very easily accessible, including its longest course that stretches for 5,600 meters. The mountainside's steepest area slopes at 37 degrees. The Niseko Grand Hirafu also has equipment rentals and and a ski school for novices.

5. Alpine Central
The Alpine Central is a beautiful wooden chalet whose atmosphere mixes the Japanese style of architecture with western influences. The Swiss-style in is complete with amenities, including a large spring water onsen style spa bath and a board-ski tuning bench. The ski lifts nearby are easily accessible, as well as other forms of entertainment such as parts of the local town, and the nightlife areas of Hirafu.
