Nashoba Valley

The Nashoba Valley Ski Area may be small, but it doesn't mean it's not worthwhile. It has seventeen trails, most of which are for intermediate and advanced level skiers – the Wardance Trail is a favorite, for its moguls and that jump at the end. Most of the trails are pretty much littered with array of rails, jibs and jumps. All in all, a pretty fun ski place to check out.

Attitash is considered the biggest skiing resort in New Hampshire, with two mountains connected to its name. This of course means that there is a large number of possibilities with regards to the variety of their 70 trails and terrains, enough to satisfy skill levels from beginner to expert – although there are more trails for the intermediate skier. The trails, terrains, and glades are, of course supported by the most powerful snowmaking system in the state, so you'll be sure to find a well-groomed and maintained trail for your vacation.

Big Powderhorn Mountain Ski Resort is situated in Bessemer, Michigan. It hosts a total of 27 ski trails which are all serviced by 10 lifts. It is a favorite of locals in the upper midwest, especially families, due to its wide array of activities-- from the basic Big Bird to the headwall of Cannonball, to the vertical drop and black diamond runs. It has one of the highest vertical drops in the midwest-- towering at 600 feet. Most of its snow is artificially made, in order to better control the slope conditions. It's 27 trails lead to endless varieties of runs, and 252 acres of skiable land. They also offer other recreational activities apart from skiing-- which include NASTAR, an ice skating rink, ice fishing, snow mobiles, horse drawn sleighs, and cross country trails.

Spruce Mountain is not a resort, but a ski area in Central Maine. Nevertheless, it is considered a very unique geographical structure, and a very interesting ski destination. The 11 trails of Spruce Mountain are maintained mostly by volunteers, and half of those trails are kept up by means of snowmakers. Nevertheless, skiers get to enjoy the special experience of skiing UP the 300 vertical feet to the summit of the mountain. Spruce Mountain is also known as an ideal cross-country skiing area.

The Elko Snowbowl is a small ski recreation area in Elko County, Nevada. It's more of a family place than anything else. It doesn't have proper trails, and doesn't provide challenge, but it's a fun place for some recreational skiing.

Bolton Valley is neither too big nor too small – as baby bear would say it, it's just right. The now-locally owned ski resort has 64 trails (with 51 ski runs) and a good terrain park over 165 acres worth of skiable area. This place is not a place for thrill-seekers, however – it's more for a relaxing family vacation than anything else. No black diamond trails here, but some good tree skiing.
