West Mountain Ski Resort
West Mountain Ski Resort is at the center of Saratoga Springs and Lake George. It has the Powerade Tubing Park which offers 8 tubing chutes, five are 700 feet chutes and three are 1,000 feet chutes. The ski resort renders learning programs for downhill skiing, snowboarding, and telemark lessons.

2. Mount Snow
Mount Snow is an ideal family place, in that it's a good place to have your kids learn how to ski – it has some great learning facilities and a good teaching staff. There's no need for more experienced skiers to worry – there are 135 posted runs spread over 590 acres of ski-worthy area here, and much of them are for intermediate-level skiers. There is enough variety in the terrain (and terrain parks) so that boredom is a virtual impossibility.

While BlackJack Ski Resort is blessed with over 200 inches of annual snowfall, they still make an effort to perfect their slopes with plenty of artificial snow. In fact, they've practically elevated the process of creating snow into an art form, with their elaborate snow making system and unparalleled efforts in providing the best conditions in the Midwest. They pay special attention to their customers suggestions and preferences. Skiers or boarders will have little to complain about, especially when they get a taste of the finest mix of hard and easy terrains and runs, while taking in a spectacular view of the Ottawa National Forest. BlackJack is serviced by its own surface lift, allowing for more turns down the slopes for maximum enjoyment.

Wild Mountain is considered to be the Killington of the midwest -it's a resort that isn't as expansive as most (though it has a sizeable terrain of 100 acres), but usually beats other resorts out in terms of earliest opening. It has excellent grooming and snow conditions. It's only an hour away from Twin Cities, and serves its purpose well as a metro area resort.

Located at the Olympic National Park, the Hurricane Ski Ridge Area is one of the only three ski areas that could be found in a National Park. And despite being family-oriented in nature, Hurricane Ridge can bring some very interesting skiing experiences to the table, such as the natural-feel terrain park and the races. Of course, this will be a good place to get your kids started on skiing, as much of the skiing here is of the cross-country type. All in all, a good place to ski.
