Chestnut Mountain Resort
Chestnut Mountain Resort is a full-service skiing facility which offers 17 different ski trails, and covers all skill levels, from novice to expert. It is a full service skiing and lodging facility located atop a wooded bluff overlooking the Mississippi River. It's longest trail is 3,500 feet in distance, while enjoying a vertical descent of 475 feet. It has top-of-the-line snowmaking and grooming systems, which allows skiiers the best ski surface available. It is serviced by three surface lifts, three triple chairs, and two quad chairs.

Wachusset Mountain is a 22-trail ski resort that is most accessible to commuting skiers from Boston and Worcester, and is one of the major ski destinations whose snow is almost completely manufactured. The trails that are scattered throughout the skiable area range from beginner to expert, and most of them are lighted to make night skiing possible. Wachusett Mountain is also home to a terrain park. The Burke Mountain Ski Resort is one of those places that can make everyone happy. With 43 posted and wonderfully-groomed ski runs and a terrain park on top of the fairly uncrowded area that showcases some really great sights, it's not surprising that this place is quite appealing. Burke is also home to some of the best Nordic skiing in the US, and has spawned some 80 Olympian skiers. Top that.

Ascutney Mountain Resort is one of Vermont's more convenient family ski resorts. With its 57 ski trails (nine of which are double diamond or expert skill level trails) over its 150 acres of groomed terrain, you sure can bet that you'll have the ski experience you want here. Of course, Ascutney is better-known for its cross-country skiing even though it has 1800 worth of good vertical. Nevertheless, it's a great place to do some relaxing skiing.

4. Ski Beech
Ski Beech is located in the highest town in the Eastern United States with a peak elevation of 5,506 feet and a base elevation of 4,675 feet. Unlike other ski areas, their skiing season begins earlier from mid-November to mid-March. The site has a ski rental shop, gifts shops, restaurants, bakery, bib and coat rentals, and an ice skating rink.
