Ragged Mountain is known as the only ski resort in the state that has a championship golf course. But even though that is their claim to fame, skiing at Ragged Mountain provides some wicked challenges thanks to its 1,250-foot vertical drop. You can also do a fair amount of out of bounds skiing in the area. It's not as busy as the other family-oriented resorts either, so you get a fair amount of privacy here.

Steven's Pass Ski Area may be called a ski area, but don't think that it's not worth a visit when you happen to be on a ski vacation. With some nice, dry snow and a collection of glades and bowls to keep things interesting, Steven's Pass offers some excellent skiing for the more experienced skiers. The area's terrain is varied enough so the adrenaline junkies would not be bored, and it has enough gentle slopes for the novices. The great view doesn't hurt either.
