Loon Mountain
With a name like Loon Mountain, it's most definite that you would be expecting something that would get your blood rushing with excitement. Well, Loon Mountain doesn't disappoint. As far as popular ski resorts go, this is one of those that gets five stars because of the exciting variety of its 47 trails over 2,100 vertical feet and most especially because of that little something they call Triple Trouble. A great place to do your sunny skiing, the Mission Ridge ski resort has some of the best snow that you can ski on as you bask in the warmth and light of the sun. Its thirty-six trails range in difficulty, from beginner to expert – although much of the terrain is for intermediate skiing. Mission Ridge's more difficult runs are made interesting by natural chutes, steeps, moguls and bowls; a rarity in ski resorts nowadays.

The Sugarbush Resort is distinguished as the ski resort that has the most number of ski trails in Northern Vermont, with its 115 trails (mostly for intermediate and advanced level skiers). With a 2,600 feet worth of vertical drop in its 508 acres worth of ski terrain – thanks to the six interconnected mountain areas – there is much excitement to be had in Sugarbush. Sugarbush also has 2 good terrain parks for the adrenaline junkies, and lessons for newbies.

Boreal Mountain Resort is the home of the first and only all-mountain terrain park in Northern California. Pro Snowboarder David Benedek, the producer of 91 Words for Snow, was all praises for Boreal. Clearly, this resort is worth checking out.

Homestead delivers a cozy winter experience high above Lake Michigan. It has boardwalks, woodland paths, and several snow trails ranging from challenging to easy. To see to their customer's convenience, they offer several amenities-- restuarants including fine dining, shops, galleries, historical sites and a nearby lodge for overnight stays.

No longer the resort for novice skier like it used to be, Bretton Woods now proudly boasts of 101 trails and glades, including some really wicked expert runs that would get the adrenaline pumping. And with much thanks to snowmaking technology, these trails are maintained on a regular basis, letting the fun last much longer. Apart from the fun and exciting skiing trail, you also get the benefit of taking in some great scenery if you choose to do some leisure skiing.
