This resort is chosen by Washingtonian Magazine as one of the 50 Great Places to Stay. It has 39 trails and the longest run is Timber Trail, which is 6,000 feet. Timberline Four Season Resort is found at Davis, West Virginia. It is approximately a couple of hours from both Harrisonburg and Morgantown. The top elevation is 4,268 feet and the base elevation is 3,268 feet which gives a vertical rise of 1,000 feet. The total skiable area is 100 acres. It encompasses 37 slopes and trails. The resort boasts Salamander, the South’s longest ski trail, which runs for 2 miles.

Homestead has facilities like an Olympic-sized ice skating rink, ski school, and ski equipment and snowboard rentals.

Warner Canyon my be just a community ski area that's really not that big at all, but it's a great place to take the kids to. Most of the slopes are for beginners and intermediates, so more experienced skiers will not find the challenge they want here. Still, this area run by the Fremont Highlander Ski Club is good for a relaxing ski and a day of fun.

Camden Snowbowl is a fairly popular community-owned ski area whose claim to fame is a spectacular view of the Atlantic Ocean. Apart from the view that you can leisurely enjoy as you ski down the mountain, the Camden Snowbowl has ten trails and a terrain park for both alpine and cross-country skiing. The Camden Snowbowl also offers quality skiing education, and runs a good youth racing program. Obviously, this isn't for the thrill-seekers.

Seven Springs Mountain Resort is only an hour's drive southeast of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The top elevation of the mountain is 2,994 feet while the base elevation is 2,240 feet. The ski season period is from December 1 until April 1. The lift system encompasses 10 chairs, 3 surface lifts, and 2 conveyors. The Spot is the Seven Springs' terrain park made for skiing experts. It has a huge jump, flat-down box, 2 x 6 rail street style, a wallride and barrel bonk.
