Apple Mountain Ski Resort
Apple Mountain Ski Resort is siutated in the heart of middle Michigan. It has a total of 12 splendid runs, serviced by 6 modern ski-lifts. It's mountains ski areas are a mix on red and black ski trails and blue and green slopes. It makes use of both seasonal snow and snowmaking devices, to create the perfect blend of snow for all skiers and snowboarders. It features slopes and trails from beginner to intermediate skill levels. While it is smaller than an average ski resort, it has the greatest altitude difference among other ski areas within a 50 mile radius. Basically, Apple Mountain is a ski resort primarily targeting casual skiers, a fun place to hang out in while working out at the same time.

The Summit Ski Area is the oldest ski area in the Pacific Northwest; in fact, it is the first one in Mount Hood. It's a family-friendly place, meaning that its six runs may not be up to par with what adrenaline junkies want. Still, a good place to check out on a vacation. It has a timed race course, some good cross-country skiing, and a wicked half-pipe.

Sundown mountain is also quite far from major Midwest cities, thus limiting its clientele to a modest-sized loyal group. Among the midwest ski resorts, it is the only one to receive a National Ski Areas Association Award for Excellence. They offer great packages and programs for families, in its endeavor to foster closer familial ties. It's skiable vertical limit is one of the highest within 300 miles. Aside from its fantastic facilities and diverse slopes, it also has a team of 120 competent instructors to teach those seeking formal instruction as well as to guide those who are unsure of their skills on snow.

4. Ski Roundtop
Another ski resort in Pennsylvania is found at Lewisberry. Ski Roundtop has 3 terrain parks, 16 trails, 1 halfpipe, and 10 lifts. The longest run is 4,100 feet and the vertical drop is 600 feet. One of the resort's highlights is snow tubing. It is made fun and safe for kids in the Kiddie Snow Tubing Hill.

5. Ski Bradford
Ski Bradford may be small, with only thirteen trails to its name, but it's incredibly decent considering that seven of those are difficult trails, and only three are beginner trails. Ski Bradford also has a wicked terrain park where stunts can be observed and performed on an almost regular basis. Night skiing is also offered at Ski Bradford, as well as a large-scale after-school teaching program for school clubs. Being very close to Boston, it isn't surprising that Ski Bradford is a popular ski destination.
