Yawgoo Valley

Yawgoo Valley has the honor of being the only ski resort in Rhode Island. That doesn't mean that it rests on its laurels; it has 13 ski trails and offers night skiing. And what it lacks in vertical drop (it's only a hill), it makes sure to keep things interesting by maintaining some excellent freestyle areas for the promising Nordic skier. Obviously Yawgoo is popular among those learning how to ski and those who are into freestyle skiing.

The Cannon Mountain Ski Area probably has some of the more exciting trails that anyone could hope to find in the area; there are so many different terrains to choose from, after all. It has a total number of 55 trails and glades, and most of them are for intermediate and advanced skiers. But beginners need not fear – currently, Cannon Mountain is expanding its beginners and children's programs. This is a great place for entire families who are into skiing.

Cochran's Ski Area is a ski area that is designed primarily for young skiers. What's interesting here is that it's obviously a downhill ski place, but it has a very cross-country feel to it. There's nothing here for the more experienced skiers, though, with only eight runs that are mostly intermediate and beginner in skill difficulty. Nevertheless, a good place to take the kids.

The Quechee Lakes Ski Area, part of the Quechee Club, offers some decent downhill and Nordic skiing. Most of the 13 trails are ideal for beginners and intermediate skiers, as the vertical drop is only 650 feet. The cross-country area is essentially their golf course. All of the ski areas are supported by snowmakers.

Jack Frost Ski Area is a part of Pocono Resort nestled in the center of Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania. This area is dedicated for snow sports like skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing. It has 5 snowtubing chutes and 2 tows.

The Loup Loup Ski Bowl is a fun, safe place to do your skiing, but it doesn't mean that there isn't any excitement to be had here. After all, the trail difficulty ranges from beginner to expert, and they're all groomed on a regular basis. This is one of the best places to perfect your cross-country skiing. And with the view you get to have, this is certainly more than worth the money.
