Mount Bachelor
Mount Bachelor is one of the largest ski resorts in the continent, with its 3,683 skiable acres and 71 runs. Its runs range from Novice to Expert in terms of skill difficulty level, although there are more challenging trails than easy trails – a good thing for the serious skiers. Mount Bachelor also has terrain parks, which feature a 400-foot Super Pipe, a half-pipe and a jib park.

1. Sugarloaf
Don't get turned off by the name; Sugarloaf is actually well-known all over the world, and for good reasons. It has 134 trails, for one thing, and a 2,820 vertical drop – obviously, Sugarloaf has something for everyone, as it is one of the biggest ski mountains in the continent. From beginners to experts, visitor who are in for the skiing at the Sugarloaf will not even BEGIN to get bored here, especially if they aim to hit all the slopes. Indeed, this is a premiere alpine skiing destination.

2. Mont Ripley
Mont Ripley is one of Michigan's premier ski hills popular among both the casual skiers and expert racers. It is located in the upper peninsula and is owned by the Michigan Technological University. It had recently engaged in snowmaking to provide better skiing conditions, as well as extend their seasons from late November to early April. It's selling feature comes in its rather difficult terrain, and the breathtaking views of Houghton, Portage Lake, and Huron Mountains. It has a total of 25 runs, encompassing four levels of difficulty (beginner, intermediate, advanced and expert), which is serviced by three lifts-- two chair lifts and one t-bar.

It is the home of Tamarack Ski Center known for its miles of cross-country trails which passes through Lake Basin.
