Anthony Lakes is probably most famous for its dry snow, ideal for adventure and Cat skiing. The powder snow makes it possible for more adventurous skiers to pursue some more blood-pumping stunts, and most of the trails are for more experienced skiers. If you want a challenge, come to Anthony Lakes.

Stowe Mountain is no question one of the most beautiful and picturesque ski mountains in the world. Add this to the 118 mostly intermediate ski trails spread over 485 acres worth of ski area (on two mountain peaks), and you really have something to talk about. The trails are ideal for practically all types of skiing. Stowe Mountain is also home to a terrain park and 80 kilometers of cross-country area.

Black Mountain is the oldest ski resort in New Hampshire, and it boasts of being the quintessential New England ski destination. All we can say is with its 40 trails over 143 acres that are pretty fairly divided between skill levels from beginner to advanced, this is a great place to practice or test how much you know about skiing. There's also some good recreational skiing to be had here; the forests can be very beautiful in Black Mountain. And considering that it's affordable, you have to admit that this is a value-for-money place.

West Mountain Ski Resort is at the center of Saratoga Springs and Lake George. It has the Powerade Tubing Park which offers 8 tubing chutes, five are 700 feet chutes and three are 1,000 feet chutes. The ski resort renders learning programs for downhill skiing, snowboarding, and telemark lessons.

4. Nor-Ski Runs
Nor-ski is a community ski area, though it is only open when conditions allow it to. It offers both alpine skiing and snowboarding, over a terrain of 30 skiable acres. It doesn't have its own ski school and lodge, but there are places within the vicinity where one may learn skiing lessons or stay. Most of its patrons are locals and big families who just want to let loose and have fun without paying much.

Considered the easiest ski area in Colorado, Buttermilk is also one of its most famous, having hosted the ESPN Winter X Games many different times. This beginner friendly ski area is also home to one of the best ski schools and children's programs in all of the United States of America.
