Beaver Creek Resort

Run by Vail Resorts, Beaver Creek Resort is one of the premiere U.S. ski resorts in Avalon, Colorado. The resort is actually comprised of three villages, with Beaver Creek Village being the main one. Bachelor Gulch and Arrowhead round out the remaining two. A total of 17 lifts operate in the area, which includes 10 high-speed quads that service the 148 runs available for guests and regular patrons.

Camelback Ski Area has 33 trails, majority of which is designed for beginners. The lift system has 15 in total with the uphill capacity of 18,600 persons per hour. The entire mountain is designed for snow sports, whether skiing, snowboarding, or snowtubing. Camelback is located at Tannersville, Pennsylvania.

Caberfae Peaks is reputed to have the highest lift-served peaks and some of the best ski terrain in all of Michigan. It is an all-around resort, with something for everyone, regaardless of skiing skills level. It has a wonderful lodge that is open for its patrons' relaxation with a restaurant and bar, a ski school, ski shop, ski corral and child care.

Mount Eyak has 30 trails, most of them for intermediate level skiers. Most of the appeal of the area is for the alpine skiing. Still, the 800-foot vertical drop is a nice, leisurely ride down so the atmosphere can be better appreciated. You could also do some heli-skiing here.

Canaan Valley Resort is nestled in the scenic Allegheny Mountains, about 3.5 hours west of Mid-Atlantic seaboard cities. This resort is chosen by Washingtonian Magazine as one of the 50 Great Places to Stay. It has 39 trails and the longest run is Timber Trail, which is 6,000 feet. The resort also has a tubing park with 4 lanes and 2 terrain parks. Other available activities are ice skating, snowshoeing, XC skiing, billiards, and arcade.

The largest ski and snowboard area in Eastern North America, Killington promises the largest variety of skiing terrain in the state (at least). With more than a thousand acres of skiable area spread over six mountains, Killington has 200 posted ski runs (including the steepest mogul run in New England) that range from novice to expert skill level difficulty. Obviously, this is a place for thrill-seekers and adrenaline junkies. It also has 5 terrain parks, and has some excellent tree skiing to its name.
