Mount Crescent Ski Resort

A lot of Mt Crescent's patrons associate Iowa with the resort, owing to its nature. It is rather small, and rather simply made, but it still holds its own when it comes to the finer points of skiing. It has chairlifts and fairly easy trails-- no black diamonds, but then again, Iowa is not known for their ski trails. It has an excellent terrain park, making it a resort fit for novices, and people who want to keep in shape.

The Berkshire East Ski Resort is said to be the most varied ski mountain in Southern New England. Available trails at the Berkshire East Resort range from beginner to extreme, and all 45 trails are maintained with snowmakers and are uncrowded for the most part. While only medium-sized compared to other ski resorts, this alpine ski area is nevertheless just as exciting as it packs in the fun. Accessible and open to the public, Berkshire East is a favorite ski area in Franklin County.

Situated in the highlands of Central Sierra Nevada, June Mountain offers a breathtaking view of the California mountaintops and all the ski trails. It is a family-oriented ski resort with trails and runs that are designed with first-time skiers in mind. Skiing and snowboarding is made more enjoyable with 21 feet of average snowfall.

Despite being called Bear Creek Mountain Ski Club, Bear Creek Mountain Club is, in actuality, a very, very private resort you can take your family to. Its sixteen trails are equally divided between novices and the intermediates. Non-members of the club have limited access to the exquisitely-groomed trails; members, however, get some really great perks – namely a good bit of privacy and convenience (they don't have to compete for trails and lifts).

Eaton Mountain is a year-round resort, but in our opinion it only truly shines in the winter when we get to ski there. It's a fairly modest family-run business, but with an area that is varied enough to accommodate the beginner, intermediate and advanced skiers, who can complain? Besides, it has 622 vertical feet worth of skiing area that you can take advantage of at night – yes, they offer night skiing, too. The fact that they're also one of the earliest ski resorts to open its ski facilities in Maine is also a plus.

Snow Snake is a 40-acre resort located in Harrison, Michigan, with natural rolling terrain, rich foliage and well-groomed skiing surfaces, complimented by wonderful man-made snow. Its winter trails number to 12 paths with a modest 210 feet vertical drop. It also has 10 km of cross-country skiing, along with snow tubing and a terrain park. It offers night skiing, as well snowboarding and skiing lessons conducted by certified instructors. It has no lodge, but it is near several inns and motels, including Holiday Inn and Days Inn.
