Elk Ridge Ski area is a modest sized ski area generally catering to family trips with beginner to intermediate skiers, snowboarders, and tubers. The resort also offers a fantastic view of Elk Ridge, allowing for more memorable moments even when you choose to stay indoors. Other services include horseback riding and guided tours.

Sapphire Valley Ski Resort is situated in a mountain valley in North Carolina Blue Ridge Mountains. Snow sports enthusiast are very much welcome in this resort. It has two runs, one for novice skiers who will receive extra attention and the other is for experts so that they could enjoy skiing or snowboarding at their own pace. The resort has two lane tube parks—Frozen Falls. Amenities available in the resort, aside from lodging and ski packages, are Jacuzzi, sauna, and indoor heated swimming pool.

Paoli Peaks is situated about half an hour from Bloomington, Indiana and 50 minutes from Louisville, which makes the locals its primary market. College kids from Illinois University are one of their usual customer groups, as well as a large contingent of local high school students. Paoli parks is unusual in its built, with the lodge being located at the top, and the trails being away from the top. It has a total of 14 trails, though there are only 5 separate ways down. The resort is open only from the end of December to start of March, a rather short duration compared to others. One of their biggest selling points is the Paoli midnight madness, which allows skiers to ski all night, even at three in the morning.

Mountain Creek Resort, located in Vernon Township, New Jersey, is known as the largest terrain park in the east. It has 63 skiable acres alongside 19 freestyle terrain park trails. The resort offers a total of 11 lifts which includes 1 gondola, 6 chairlifts, 3 magic carpets, and 1 rope tow. Because of 1,000 snow guns, it has more snowmaking capacity compared to other resorts in the area.

Cloudmont Ski & Golf Resort is the only place available for skiing in Alabama. Because of their snow-making equipment, Cloudmont now has 2 one-thousand foot slopes for beginners and intermediate. The lift system used is 2 pony lifts. The resort provides personalized instruction and private lessons to skiers of different ages and skills.
