The Balsams Wilderness has 16 trails, ranging from beginner to expert (mostly intermediate level, though), and they are all so well-groomed and maintained that it's no surprise that the Balsams Wilderness has become one of the premiere ski resorts in the continent. Here, you can indulge in as much alpine and cross-country skiing as you want, whether recreational or thrill-seeking (check out the NOTCH). Add a fairly challenging terrain park, and you're all set to have your own unhindered adventure.
