Sugar Bowl
Daron Rahlves, 2003 Hahnenkamm winner and Sugar Bowl Ski Ambassador calls Sugar Bowl as his mountain home. This resort is also known as the home of California’s only Ski Academy and the Sugar Bowl Ski Team. With high-tech facilities and especially made trails, it truly is inviting to snow sports lovers.

1. Powder Ridge
The Powder Ridge Ski Area, while not a resort, is still a rather good place to ski. Found on Besek Mountain in Connecticut, it is seen by many as THE best ski area in the state. With 75 acres worth of ski-worthy territory, Powder Ridge terrains cater to skiers of all skill levels – ranging to wide spaces for beginners, and obstacle trails for the more experienced. The ski learning programs at Power Ridge are also known to be more organized than some others.

The Canterbury Farm, prides itself in being a real ski experience. While it is not a resort, it DOES provide some cozy lodgings that can be appreciated by those who like simplicity. As for the ski trails, there are 22 kilometers of them, groomed and tracked frequently. There are also beautiful views to be taken in as you ski in Canterbury Farm; what it may lack in excitement, it makes up for in leisure. The area is ideal for cross-country skiing; ski tours are offered.

3. Ski Roundtop
Another ski resort in Pennsylvania is found at Lewisberry. Ski Roundtop has 3 terrain parks, 16 trails, 1 halfpipe, and 10 lifts. The longest run is 4,100 feet and the vertical drop is 600 feet. One of the resort's highlights is snow tubing. It is made fun and safe for kids in the Kiddie Snow Tubing Hill.

4. Butternut
Advertised as the “Pride of the Berkshires”, Butternut is a family-oriented ski resort on Warner Mountain, the Berkshires. It has 1000-foot vertical drop that plays home to 22 downhill ski trails out of 110 ski-worthy acres of the territory, as well as a terrain park. Much of the trails are for intermediate skiers, and are impeccably groomed and kept up for the enjoyment and convenience of the lodgers. There is also a decent practice area for beginners.

Hickory Hill boasts of 27 kilometers of classic tracks which are home to eight ski trails. While some may think that it's pretty small, other would argue that it's not the size that matters – we agree. You get a lot of quality ski tours out of Hickory Hill; the night skiing is recommended. The Hickory Hill Ski Touring Center is open to groups.
