Massanutten Ski Resort is located 10 miles east of Harrisonburg, Virginia. It is just an hour away from Winchester and 2 hours from Roanoke. The skiable area covers 70 acres. The resort has a total of 14 trails, one terrain park and a snow tube park. Massanutten is the first in Virginia to feature snowboarding and snow tubing.

Seven Oaks is better known for its snowboarding areas than its skiing, but that is not to say that skiing here is a second-rate experience. Not at all. Seven Oaks takes care of their clients and ensure their safety through meticulous maintenance of the facilities. It has national ski patrol always on duty, with all bright lights secured for night skiing. Its runs are groomed daily, with snowmaking equipment working on all slopes. On the snowboarding scene, Seven Oaks has multiple hits and competitions throughout the whole winter, offering new challenges to those who dare to accept them. It's snowboarding competitions change it's runs everyday, a meticulous effort on the part of resort. It is located within Boone, Iowa, 15 minutes west of Ames on Highway 30.

Bristol Mountain Snowsports Resort is the only ski resort in South Bristol, New York. The nearest city, Canandaigua, is 30 miles away from the resort. It boasts the highest vertical (1,200 feet) between the Adirondacks and the Rocky Mountains. Although it has easy trails like green circle, it also offers highly challenging ones for skiing enthusiasts.

Soda Springs has one of California’s first snow tubing areas. The resort has 2 tubing tows so it is convenient to go to the top of the tubing runs. It is the home to Planet Snow Kids, the region’s most famous children’s ground. It has a Tube Carousel, Moving Carpet and ski equipment designed for kids.

Sugar Shack is not a resort as much as it is an area for skiing in Thornton, New Hampshire. As far as we could tell, you can only find out what you're in for once you call up and ask them, and even then you'll be surprised. Nevertheless, Sugar Shack Nordic Village has a really good cross-country skiing and ski tour trail.
