Badger Mountain Ski Area
The Badger Mountain Ski Area is a way to get it some skiing without the hassle of high prices. The trails and runs provide a challenge for skiers of any skill level. The area also has the benefit of being fairly uncrowded most of the time, so there would be little to no bothersome waiting for your turn. The place is mostly about having fun – which everyone can have here.

1. Bluewood
The snow is powdery and there's a trail for everyone. The grooming could only be called excellent, befitting of the kind of snow and skiing that you can only find and get in Bluewood – at least, in the Northwest. And because of the abundance of timber, you can get the best tree skiing in the area here. Slopes, moguls, and the like give you the challenge you're craving.

Despite being called Bear Creek Mountain Ski Club, Bear Creek Mountain Club is, in actuality, a very, very private resort you can take your family to. Its sixteen trails are equally divided between novices and the intermediates. Non-members of the club have limited access to the exquisitely-groomed trails; members, however, get some really great perks – namely a good bit of privacy and convenience (they don't have to compete for trails and lifts).

3. HoliMont
HoliMont is considered the biggest private ski area in North America. It is located 40 miles south of Buffalo via Route 219 to Ellicottville. It has an average snowfall of 200” per year and a 700 vertical feet of snowmaking, so snow coverage will not be a problem. HoliMont offers 50 slopes, trails, terrain parks, half pipe, and 9 lift service.

Al Quaal Recreation is a sprawling 300-acre natural park which overlooks Teal Lake. Its skiing methods and style is reminiscent of earlier, hardier forms of winter sports that were introduced by the Scandinavians. It has a 1,200 foot iced toboggun run that is opened only on specific times, and provides a refreshing change from the standard commercial skiing runs. The toboggun is adjacent to the more traditional downhill ski runs and slalom runs, which are lined with lit ropes. It has diverse difficulty levels for its terrain-- which makes it an all-around skiing resort for any skill level. Lastly, they serve hot food and drinks within the premises, allowing for some warm downtime after a skiing workout.

5. Sugarloaf
Don't get turned off by the name; Sugarloaf is actually well-known all over the world, and for good reasons. It has 134 trails, for one thing, and a 2,820 vertical drop – obviously, Sugarloaf has something for everyone, as it is one of the biggest ski mountains in the continent. From beginners to experts, visitor who are in for the skiing at the Sugarloaf will not even BEGIN to get bored here, especially if they aim to hit all the slopes. Indeed, this is a premiere alpine skiing destination.
