1. Belleayre Ski Center
More popularly known as New York’s Winter Snow Park ski resort, Belleayre Ski Center can be found along State Route 28. In total, it has 47 glades, parks, and trails and 58% of the terrain is suited for intermediate skiers. The ski resort boasts 5 cross-country trails which is 9.2 kilometers. Operating hours are from 8:00 to 5:00 pm everyday for the lodges and 9:00 to 4:00 pm for the lifts.

2. Bristol Mountain Snowsports Resort
Bristol Mountain Snowsports Resort is the only ski resort in South Bristol, New York. The nearest city, Canandaigua, is 30 miles away from the resort. It boasts the highest vertical (1,200 feet) between the Adirondacks and the Rocky Mountains. Although it has easy trails like green circle, it also offers highly challenging ones for skiing enthusiasts.

3. Gore Mountain Ski Resort
Gore Mountain Ski Resort is one of the famous ski-resorts in New York. It is located at 793 Peaceful Valley Road which is 20 minutes from I-87. The ski resort has 84 trails, 75 are alpine trails while the other 9 are cross-country trails. It has a skiable area of 347 acres, more than half of which caters for intermediate skiers.

4. Greek Peak Mountain Resort
Greek Peak Mountain Resort is the resort for families who loves adventure and quality time. It is situated off of I-81 in New York’s Snow Belt. It boasts 32 trails of different terrains. The terrain parks and half pipe cater to the experts while the Progression Park is for novice skiers. Some of the resort’s facilities include a cafeteria, rental shop, children’s center and child care.

5. HoliMont
HoliMont is considered the biggest private ski area in North America. It is located 40 miles south of Buffalo via Route 219 to Ellicottville. It has an average snowfall of 200” per year and a 700 vertical feet of snowmaking, so snow coverage will not be a problem. HoliMont offers 50 slopes, trails, terrain parks, half pipe, and 9 lift service.

6. Hunter Mountain
Hunter Mountain is found 2 hours north of New York City in the northern Catskill Mountains of New York State. The base elevation is 1600 meters above sea level while the summit elevation is 3200 meters. It has 240 skiable acres, 11 lifts, and 55 trails. Terrains are made specifically to accommodate skiers according to their skills.

7. Thunder Ridge Ski Area
Thunder Ridge Ski Area is nestled in the hills of Patterson, New York. It is 75 minutes away from New York City. They offer a free shuttle from the Patterson train station. Because of their tower-mounted and fan snow cannons, snow coverage is over 100 acres. The skiable area is 90 acres. Thirty trails are available for skiers of any level. The lift system includes 3 chairlifts, a t-bar, a handtow, and a magic carpet.

8. Titus Mountain
Only 7 miles south of Malone, New York, skiers can enjoy the 27 trails available in Titus Mountain. The top elevation is 1,350 feet, the vertical drop is 1,200 feet, and the longest run is 3.5 miles. It also offers night skiing, snow tubing, and ski, board, and blade rentals. Titus Mountain had their trails suitable for skiers whether novice or daredevils.

9. West Mountain Ski Resort
West Mountain Ski Resort is at the center of Saratoga Springs and Lake George. It has the Powerade Tubing Park which offers 8 tubing chutes, five are 700 feet chutes and three are 1,000 feet chutes. The ski resort renders learning programs for downhill skiing, snowboarding, and telemark lessons.

10. Whiteface Mountain Ski Area
Whiteface Mountain is one of the highest mountains in the state of New York. It is nestled in Wilmington. The ski area boasts a base elevation of 1,220 feet, a vertical drop of 3,430 feet at the east. It has a skiable area of 220 acres in more than 76 trails. Whiteface has a skiing area called “Slides”, which is 35 acres, for adventurous skiers.
