1. Mount Bachelor
Mount Bachelor is one of the largest ski resorts in the continent, with its 3,683 skiable acres and 71 runs. Its runs range from Novice to Expert in terms of skill difficulty level, although there are more challenging trails than easy trails a good thing for the serious skiers. Mount Bachelor also has terrain parks, which feature a 400-foot Super Pipe, a half-pipe and a jib park.

2. Williamette Pass
Williamette pass may be a humble ski area on federal land, but it hardly means that it's no fun. With one of the steepest runs in the world, it promises an adrenaline rush like no other. It also has two peaks to choose from, and offers some of the greatest skiing you can hope to have.

3. Anthony Lakes
Anthony Lakes is probably most famous for its dry snow, ideal for adventure and Cat skiing. The powder snow makes it possible for more adventurous skiers to pursue some more blood-pumping stunts, and most of the trails are for more experienced skiers. If you want a challenge, come to Anthony Lakes.

4. Mount Ashland
Mount Ashland is regarded as part of the alpine gateway to the Pacific Northwest; it is also on the highest peak of the Siskiyou Mountains. With a bowl and some of the steepest runs you can hope to find, the thrill-seekers will be happy to know that this place lives up to the claim it's steeper here. Most of Mount Ashland's trails are ranked black, and there are very few green trails here.

5. Spout Springs
Spout Springs is a great place to help your kids learn how to ski. Located at the Blue Mountains, its wide, downhill trails are ideal for skiers of varying skills so you can ski progressively harder slopes as you improve. The place has an excellent program for little children, and offers good facilities for alpine and cross-country skiing.

6. Cooper Spur
The Cooper Spur Mountain resort of Mount Hood, Oregon, is a favorite ski destination among the locals. It has 10 runs over fifty acres worth of skiable terrain, most of which is ideal for children learning how to ski and snowboard instructors are available to assist. They specialize in Nordic skiing.

7. Mount Hood Meadows
Mount Hood Meadows is the largest ski resort on Mount Hood (at present), and also has the honor of being one of the best ski resorts in Oregon. Its terrain is so varied that everyone is sure to find something they like about skiing here. It has 87 alpine runs, 9 miles of Nordic terrain and very challenging terrain parks for that bit of excitement. Add to this the spectacular view, and you'll have something unforgettable.

8. Mount Hood Skibowl
Mount Hood Skibowl is pretty famous for a very good reason it is the largest night ski area in America. It has 34 lit runs (out of 65 trails) in its 960 ski-worthy acres, and the most number of night skiing hours for a reasonable price. Mount Hood Skibowl also has lighted terrain parks, where the thrill seekers can have their own fun challenge.

9. Summit Ski Area
The Summit Ski Area is the oldest ski area in the Pacific Northwest; in fact, it is the first one in Mount Hood. It's a family-friendly place, meaning that its six runs may not be up to par with what adrenaline junkies want. Still, a good place to check out on a vacation. It has a timed race course, some good cross-country skiing, and a wicked half-pipe.

10. Timberline Lodge
Timberline Lodge is above the ski-permissible terrain, which pretty much adds to the appeal of the place. It has 32 runs, a 17-foot Superpipe, a half-pipe and jib park. The terrain is varied enough to accommodate all skill levels of skiing, although much of it is being developed for beginners. Also, Timberline Lodge offers year-round skiing the only resort of its kind in North America, as far as we know.
