2. Castle Mountain
Located in the picturesque Westcastle Valley is the Castle Mountain Resort. The Castle Mountain features 67 ski trails, six lifts that rises to about 225 to 450 meters above the ground. Castle Mountain first opened in 1965, since then it undergone renovations to better provide for the needs of ski enthusiast from across the globe.

3. Drumheller Valley Ski Club
Amidst the flat Alberta prairies, is an impressive ski resort called the Drumheller Valley Ski Club. The ski area has a base elevation of 2,325 feet and maximum elevation of 2,700 feet. Drumheller Valley Ski Club features five runs, one lift, and a plethora of lodging and entertainment possibilities available. Its other amenities include ski and snowboard rentals, ski lessons, night skiing and full ski patrol coverage.

What started off as a miniscule ski area, become a popular resort frequented by a lot of ski enthusiast foreigners and locals alike. The Whispering Pines is located in the north and east slope of Clear Hills, Northern Alberta. This ski resort features good snow condition, 2 Doppelmayr T-Bars, Borer Handle Two, and a number of impressive runs. Whether you are a beginner or expert skier, there is something for you in Whispering Pines.

5. Vista Ridge
Vista Ridge is the best non-mountain winter recreation in Alberta. It provides for state-of-the-art ski, riding and slide facilities. Vista Ridge is located outside the Fort McMurray in Alberta. It can be accessed either through bus or car. The ski resort offers over 300 sets of rental skis and 100 snowboards at the guest’s disposal. Vista Ridge also provides for a scenic view of the Clearwater River Valley. The best months to visit the Vista Ridge are from mid-November to early April.

Looking for the slope the cater for the needs of amateur skiers and snowboarders, then visit Snow Valley Ski Club. This ski resort features one quad chairlift, T-bar and two magic carpets. Snow Valley Ski Club was established in 1962 by the members of Eskimo Ski Club. This 2008, Snow Valley will open the first “pulse” quad chair of its kind in Canada.

8. Silver Summit
Located 51 kilometers north of North Edson Alberta is the Silver Summit ski resort. Silver Summit offers amazing skiing experience for a very reasonable price. Its 25 kilometers cross country trail is perfect for playful skiing and snowboarding. There are also amenities like cafeteria, lounge, rooms, snowmobile retails available. Ticket cost $14 for children and $29 for adult.

9. Rabbit Hill Snow Resort
The Rabbit Hill in on the “edge” when it comes to snow sport activities. It features over 40 acres of ski trials, as well as, various rails, funboxes and hits. Its long ski trails, extensive grooming and affordable rates lure skiers from near and far. Rabbit Hill is open on Monday to Friday 10:00 to 9:00 pm, and Saturday- Sunday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
