2. Black Mountain of Maine
Black Mountian of Maine is one of those family-friendly affairs that you just can't resist visiting. After all, it is known for having some of the best Nordic skiing facilities (and has in fact hosted many cross-country skiing championships), which would be cool not only for the kids, but also for the adrenaline junkie adults. But it also has the standard downhill skiing trails and terrain parks for the traditionalists and lessons for beginners. Black Mountain of Maine also offers night skiing for you guys who like excitement.

3. Jiminy Peak
Jiminy Peak is a medium-sized ski resort that boasts of its family-friendly skiing amenities. Out of its 170 ski-worthy acres, you find yourself faced with 44 trails – most of which are alpine and ideal for all levels of skiing. All the trails and terrains are refreshed with manufactured snow every night, so they can be enjoyed every day. The most exciting program so far, however, would be the SKIwee program, which helps young children lean how to ski and the after-work programs for the adults.

4. Arrowhead
The Arrowhead Ski Area is actually pretty small as a ski destination; it has 9 ski trails in its 25 skiable acres of hill. If you really think about it, it's more of a recreation area than a real ski place. Nevertheless, it has an interesting enough terrain to allow some fun for everyone. It's very local though, so don't expect too much.

5. Granite Gorge
There are many ski areas in New Hampshire, but it's doubtful that they're as fun as Granite Gorge. Granite Gorge promises affordable family fun, with seventeen trails that encompass all levels (yes, up until expert double black diamonds) and range from downhill skiing to cross-country skiing. The trails are not only challenging, they are also quite beautiful, making recreational skiing another indulgence in Granite Gorge. Definitely, anyone can enjoy Granite Gorge – even the thrill-seekers.

6. Woodbound
Woodbound Inn isn't quite as well-known as a ski resort as most of the others, but it should be noted that it has some nice, quiet cross-country skiing available to you if you ever want it. Woodbound Inn has eighteen kilometers worth of cross-country trail, all safe and providing some memorable sights. It's ideal for a winter honeymoon.

7. Cochran's Ski Area
Cochran's Ski Area is a ski area that is designed primarily for young skiers. What's interesting here is that it's obviously a downhill ski place, but it has a very cross-country feel to it. There's nothing here for the more experienced skiers, though, with only eight runs that are mostly intermediate and beginner in skill difficulty. Nevertheless, a good place to take the kids.

8. Woodstock
Woodstock Inn's Suicide Six is a small ski area as far as ski areas go with its 23 ski runs, but it doesn't mean that it's not worth a visit. It is funny to note, however, that despite the name “Suicide Six”, it's terrain is mostly ideal for leisurely recreational skiing. But more experienced skiers need not fear – the difficult trails (especially the Face) are really difficult, and you can have fun on those. Woodstock also offers ski tours and a good cross-country program.
