Mount Buller is home to the incredibly popular beginners ski area, Bourke Street, is regarded as THE busiest ski run in Australia. Of course, Mount Buller doesn't really limit itself to beginner skiers – home to the longest vertical drop in Victoria, its intermediate or “blue” runs and advanced or “black” runs give skilled skiers some of the best challenges and experiences one can hope to have. Even though there are trails for skiers of all levels, Mount Hotham's intermediate and advanced runs can only be described as SOMETHING ELSE. Although Dinner Plain is not by any rights a proper ski resort – it's better known as one of Mount Hotham's skiing bases – it is nevertheless a decent skiing destination for the family. Here, the younger ones (or the beginners) can have a fun, peaceful learning experience in the ski departments with little to no incident. There is also a rather nice Cross Country ski trail in Dinner Plain once everyone's got their ski legs in order. So if you want a comfortable ski vacation, Dinner Plain is for you.
