1. Aspen Highlands
Famous for the Highland Bowl, one of the most intense skiing sites in the area, the Aspen Highlands caters to skiers and snowboarders who can handle a more intermediate-to-expert difficulty terrain. Three high speed quad chairs and two triple chairs are used to service visitors up the mountain tops to experience Aspen's very challenging trails.

2. Timber Ridge
Timber Ridge has the distinction of having the highest natural vertical rise in Southwest Michigan. It has a full plate of amenities, including day lodge, restaurant, ski school, ski shop and rentals, a nursery and a skiing program dedicated to kids. It has a well-groomed terrain, comprised of a delicate combination of fresh manmade powder and natural snow.

3. Timberline Lodge
Timberline Lodge is above the ski-permissible terrain, which pretty much adds to the appeal of the place. It has 32 runs, a 17-foot Superpipe, a half-pipe and jib park. The terrain is varied enough to accommodate all skill levels of skiing, although much of it is being developed for beginners. Also, Timberline Lodge offers year-round skiing – the only resort of its kind in North America, as far as we know.

4. Warner Canyon
Warner Canyon my be just a community ski area that's really not that big at all, but it's a great place to take the kids to. Most of the slopes are for beginners and intermediates, so more experienced skiers will not find the challenge they want here. Still, this area run by the Fremont Highlander Ski Club is good for a relaxing ski and a day of fun.
