1. Ski Sundown

Ski Sundown is not actually a ski resort in the proper sense, but it is one of the good ski areas you can find in Connecticut. It has 15 trails, most of which are lighted for when you want to indulge in night skiing. Ski Sundown is more geared towards the beginners, though (9 of the trails are for that level). But that doesn't mean that the adrenaline junkies can't have their fun – the Gunbarrel trail, for example, is a steep, straight ski down the side of the mountain.

2. Diamond Peek

Diamond Peak, previously known as Ski Incline, opened in 1966. With almost 40 years of operation, they have renovated the place into a skier’s dream. Additional trails are added, most of them are for advanced skiers. This is where the name Diamond Peak was derived since black diamond is the symbol for expert ski trails.

3. Vallee Bleue Ski Centre

“Family skiing at its Best” is offered in Vallee Bleue Ski Centre. Established in January 15, 1963, the Vallee Bleue prides itself for being the warmest and welcoming family ski resort in Quebec. Its 17 trails provide for sufficient challenge to skiers of various levels. Everything in this ski center aims to give pleasure and comfort for its guests.

Whatever it is, there is definitely something in Mont Gabriel to satisfy your needs. There are boutiques, equipment rentals, repair shop, bar and restaurant, and reception halls in this resort.

5. Owl’s Head

The name Owl’s Head was based from the name of the greatest chief of the Abenaki tribe that inhabited the area. Folks of Owl’s Head believe that the mountain resembled the great chief’s profile as he lay in the state of repose. Owl’s Head is a magical ski resort that offers 44 trails that are serviced by 8 lifts, 4 quads and 4 doubles. Of the numerous trails, 30 % of which are for beginners, 40% for intermediate, and 30% for expert skiers.

6. Mont Grand Fonds

Far from the hustle and bustle of city life, the Mont Grand Fonds is the favorite ski resort destination in eastern Quebec. Mont Grand Fonds is strategically located 150 kilometers from downtown Quebec. It features numerous runs, a snow park, 160 kilometers of cross-country ski trails, tube slid, as well as other associated services. There are day care centers, parking, restaurant and dining services, and lodging offered in the area.
