21. Mount Holiday

Mount Holiday is maintained and preserved by a dedicated group of skiiing enthusiasts. Its known for its welcoming atmosphere, it's preference for children and families, and affordable skiing rates. It was originally part of the Fife Lake State Forest Land, until the bay-view hills were cleared by some businessmen in order to build the ski resort. Mount Holiday was a community effort-- locals had given it both time and financial support, until it become the popular resort we know today.

22. Mount Bohemia

Mount Bohemia is proud to be one of the most extreme and challenging ski resorts in the midwest. It has the highest runs, most devil-may-care jumps, highest vertical drop and the deepest powder in the whole of the midwest. Most of its terrain is for intermediate to expert skiers, with hardly any room for novices. Mount Bohemia also makes little use of snowmaking machine as it aims to be all-natural as much as possible. It is regarded by a lot of purist, backcountry skiers and riders as a true treasure, and an excellent place to hone one's skiing and snowboarding talents.

23. Caberfae Peaks

Caberfae Peaks is reputed to have the highest lift-served peaks and some of the best ski terrain in all of Michigan. It is an all-around resort, with something for everyone, regaardless of skiing skills level. It has a wonderful lodge that is open for its patrons' relaxation with a restaurant and bar, a ski school, ski shop, ski corral and child care.

24. Whitecap Mountains

Whitecap Mountain's terrain is situated both in the upper peninsula of Michigan and northwest Wisconsin. It's 43 runs were carefully built from the ancient Penokee range, across three mountains. It is considered to be one of Wisconsin's largest ski resorts, and has a reputation of being an all-around ski resort, great for both family outings and advanced skiing activities.

25. Timber Ridge

Timber Ridge has the distinction of having the highest natural vertical rise in Southwest Michigan. It has a full plate of amenities, including day lodge, restaurant, ski school, ski shop and rentals, a nursery and a skiing program dedicated to kids. It has a well-groomed terrain, comprised of a delicate combination of fresh manmade powder and natural snow.

Badger Pass is known as California’s original ski resort. It is nestled in the center of Yosemite National Park. With its beginner-friendly environment, it is the top place in the area to learn skiing and snowboarding. Aside from skiing and snowboarding, it also offers snowshoeing, snow tubing, and cross-country skiing.

28. Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard

The Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard resort, also known as Lee Canyon, is justly part of the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area. It has 11 ski trails (mostly intermediate-level) over 35 skiable acres, with snowboarding areas a popular enough activity to rival the skiing. With challenging terrain parks and a half-pipe to excite the skier, Las Vegas Ski and snowboard resort is a good place to ski.

29. Mount Rose

Mount Rose Ski Resort has the highest base elevation in the Tahoe Basin (7,900 feet), and it really does have some of the cleanest snow and best runs you can hope to find in the area. It has more than sixty trails over its 1,800 feet worth of vertical drop already, and most of them are for the more skillful skiers – so yes, those who like a challenge will love this place. Mount Rose also has 2 terrain parks, and offers lessons for first-time skiers of all ages.

30. Cooper Spur

The Cooper Spur Mountain resort of Mount Hood, Oregon, is a favorite ski destination among the locals. It has 10 runs over fifty acres worth of skiable terrain, most of which is ideal for children learning how to ski and snowboard – instructors are available to assist. They specialize in Nordic skiing.
