1. Mohawk Mountain
Mohawk Mountain is may be known as the oldest ski area in Connecticut, but that doesn't mean that it is any less exciting than the newer resorts. After all, being the largest ski area in the state has to count for something: with 24 trails maintained by snowmakers and designed for all levels of skiing, Mohawk mountain has something for everyone. It was, and still is, the best snow-based resort in the area.

2. Haystack Club
Haystack Club is more of a private resort community than a proper ski resort. Nevertheless, it really does offer some decent Vermont skiing; it's very private and traditional New England. It has 45 mostly intermediate trails, all maintained with high-end snowmakers over 194 acres of ski-worthy area. Here, it's all about the love and joy of skiing.

3. Quechee Lakes
The Quechee Lakes Ski Area, part of the Quechee Club, offers some decent downhill and Nordic skiing. Most of the 13 trails are ideal for beginners and intermediate skiers, as the vertical drop is only 650 feet. The cross-country area is essentially their golf course. All of the ski areas are supported by snowmakers.
