6. Warner Canyon

Warner Canyon my be just a community ski area that's really not that big at all, but it's a great place to take the kids to. Most of the slopes are for beginners and intermediates, so more experienced skiers will not find the challenge they want here. Still, this area run by the Fremont Highlander Ski Club is good for a relaxing ski and a day of fun.

7. Crystal Mountain

If you were asked to describe Crystal Mountain using only one word, consider using “gnarly” (if you're prone to excitement) or “challenging” (if you're tame), because the terrain is vast AND difficult for the most part. The snow is deep, the trails are generally rugged, and expert skiers will appreciate that kind of thing. That doesn't mean that novice skiers don't have a snowball's chance in hell here, though – some of the trails are pretty mild. But mostly, this is for experienced skiers.

8. Leavenworth Ski Hill

Leavenworth Ski Hill is a ski area facilitated by the Leavenworth Winter Sports Club, and is a good place to get into some exciting winter sports like ski-jumping and snowboarding. But we believe that the best facilities they have would be for their Nordic skiing programs. The trails are more than adequately lit for night skiing, and the downhill skiing area is great for the kids.

9. Mission Ridge

A great place to do your sunny skiing, the Mission Ridge ski resort has some of the best snow that you can ski on as you bask in the warmth and light of the sun. Its thirty-six trails range in difficulty, from beginner to expert – although much of the terrain is for intermediate skiing. Mission Ridge's more difficult runs are made interesting by natural chutes, steeps, moguls and bowls; a rarity in ski resorts nowadays.
